Our Parent Teacher Conferences are scheduled for this Thursday. We are very excited to speak with you!

We are writing today with details about Parent Teacher Conferences, and also with a few quick announcements for ALL families on the following:

• Parent Teacher Conferences are THIS THURSDAY - all students will learn from home on Thursday!

• Accessing Report Cards and PupilPath information, sending home paper copies of these items

• Follow-up from our PTA Meeting last week, including our Amazon Wishlist

• What to do if your student is learning in person and you want to change them to remote

• Reminder about consenting to random COVID testing

Parent Teacher Conferences

Parent Teacher Conferences are this Thursday. There are three sessions:

• Morning: 9:30 am - 12 pm

• Afternoon:1 pm - 3:30 pm

• Evening: 4:30 - 7:30 pm

On Thursday, all students and all groups will be remote. Students will join homeroom remotely on Thursday morning, complete work on Google Classroom, and join a live “assembly” to watch a film to celebrate and make connections with what we learned last month for Black History Month, with what we are learning this month for Women’s History Month (March). While teachers call families to discuss student progress, students will be learning from home.

Parent Teacher Conferences are completely virtual - no parents will come to our building. Our teachers have been sharing detailed information with each other about your student’s progress. Your child’s advisor will call or set up a video conference to speak with you. All families will get a call.

You can tell us your preferred time - morning, afternoon, or evening - by completing this very quick form in English, Spanish, or Chinese: https://forms.gle/ytMbdweWCNWGhEWNA Please complete by Wednesday night so your preferred time can be scheduled. If you have no preferences or do not complete, no need to worry. We will still reach out to you on Thursday!

Reminder about Report Cards and PupilPath

As we shared before mid-winter break, student report cards for our first semester became available in mid-February.

• For all parents, Report Cards will be found on your NYC Schools Account.

  • If you need help with your My Schools Account, you can contact Ms. Deliz at edeliz@schools.nyc.gov or by phone at 646-942-3106.

• For our 7th and 8th grade parents, report cards can be found on PupilPath as well.

• For in person students, we are sending a copy of the report card home with students.

• For remote students, a copy of the report card has been mailed.

• With ALL report cards for every grade, we have included information on registering for PupilPath.

• For our 6th grade parents, we will be sharing resources on how to register for PupilPath in our next email, once you have the registration letter. Stay tuned!

PTA Meeting Follow-Up

Our PTA met last week to discuss Parent Teacher Conferences, PupilPath and Report Cards, ELA and Math state testing (no information yet!), and outdoor learning.

If you would like to help support our efforts to move some classes and activities outside once the weather warms, we invite you to check out our Amazon Wishlist: Amazon Wishlist for Outdoor Learning. You can purchase anything from a clipboard to a big tent to help Prep have an awesome outdoor learning set-up!

No pressure to help and please only support if you are interested and able. We know the pandemic has been very difficult.

Information on how to change students from in person to remote…

If your plans have changed, and you signed up to come back to school in person but you would like to stay remote, you need to fill out this survey online: https://www.nycenet.edu/surveys/learningpreference

If you need help completing the survey to move to remote, you should contact Ms. Deliz at edeliz@schools.nyc.gov or by phone at 646-942-3106. She can help!

If you have signed up for remote learning and want to change to in-person, that is not possible at this time. We will let you know if the Mayor and Chancellor change this policy.

COVID Consent Form

To come to school in person, EVERY in-person student must turn in a new DOE Covid consent for testing form. All students must have a new form signed before in person school reopens or must bring it with them on their first day of school back in the building. If you signed a consent form before for monthly testing, the DOE is still requiring that you fill out a new form for weekly testing. Students who do not have consent will not be able to return to in person learning.

Ways you can do this:

• If you still need to provide consent, you can submit it electronically through your My Schools Account. Find out more information by clicking HERE: https://www.schools.nyc.gov/learning/student-journey/nyc-schools-account

• If you need help with your My Schools Account, you can contact Ms. Deliz at edeliz@schools.nyc.gov or by phone at 646-942-3106. You can also sign the consent form and email it to Ms. Lupe in the Main Office. Here email is gjimenez4@schools.nyc.gov.

• We are distributing paper copies of this form to all in-person students during their first day of in-person learning. Students must return their signed form when they come back to the building for their next in-person learning school day.
